Paul Lacourciere
Paul Lacourciere is an accomplished lawyer, seasoned veteran of the energy industry, and former CEO of a biofuel company. Over his 20 plus years of practice, Paul Lacourciere has spent virtually his entire career representing clients on the leading edge of emerging issues in the energy industry. Addressing these issues requires the ability to be thoughtful and creative in assessing new, uncertain risks and developing reasonable commercial solutions to that risk allocation – within a structure established for long-term sustainability.
Paul represents some of the largest companies in the world on issues affecting their energy and climate initiatives and advises mid-sized and start-up companies as their business and energy issues evolve. His academic background in environmental resources engineering also brings substantial technical knowledge to his practice, giving him a unique perspective on the interrelation between legal and technical issues. His unique combination of skills provides clients with exceptional representation.
A core part of Paul’s practice involves advising clients on state, federal, and local energy and climate matters and structuring transactions within the various regulatory frameworks. He has worked on a wide range of regulatory matters including federal and state electricity regulations, renewable portfolio standards, destruction of hazardous materials in waste-to-energy facilities, renewable transportation fuels, and greenhouse gas emissions.
